About Me
So…
My professional path has been a journey of integrating seemingly distinct passions: a deep-seated fascination with technology that began with an Atari 400 and BASIC programming, a love for creative expression nurtured through classical piano and the vibrant halls of LaGuardia High School of Performing Arts, and a fundamental belief in the power of clear communication, which led me to an English Composition degree from Hunter College. It’s this confluence of analytical thinking, creative problem-solving, and human-centered understanding that shapes my approach to design and technology today.
From an early age, I was captivated by the logic of programming and the potential of computers. While I initially dreamed of programming video games, I also heeded advice that an English degree would be invaluable in the tech world. Indeed, understanding language – its structure, nuance, and ability to convey complex ideas – has been a constant asset, from demystifying technical concepts to crafting intuitive user experiences, and now, to exploring the evolving dialogue with AI. My early roles, like at Price Waterhouse, allowed me to bridge my technical aptitude with emerging opportunities in graphic design, setting a course for a career in visual communication.
My time in diverse, multicultural environments like New York City, particularly at LaGuardia and Hunter College with students from across the globe, instilled in me a deep appreciation for varied perspectives and the power of collaboration. This has been foundational to my work, whether building the Creative Services department at Davis Vision or leading design initiatives at BayBio. I believe the best solutions emerge from teams that bring a wealth of different experiences to the table, and I thrive in facilitating that synergy. My approach has always been rooted in human-centered and goal-oriented design: understanding the ‘why’ behind a project and the needs of the end-user to craft effective and engaging solutions.
The tech landscape is one of constant evolution, and my career has mirrored that dynamism. From roles as a Senior UX Engineer at startups like Quaddra Software, where I dove deep into D3.js to build interactive dashboards that garnered attention from companies like Google, to contributing to major product launches at Apple, I’ve embraced the challenge of learning new technologies and adapting to new paradigms. This same drive led me to share my knowledge, teaching Adobe software at institutions like AcademyX and De Anza College, which further honed my ability to distill complex information and mentor others. Even periods of exploring different paths, like my work at Ace Parking developing a VBA-powered dashboard, were opportunities to apply problem-solving skills in new contexts.
Today, I’m excited by the current convergence of technology, particularly the integration of AI into our digital lives. My early programming background and my deep understanding of language feel uniquely suited to this new frontier. I’m actively developing my skills in modern front-end technologies (React, TypeScript) and leveraging AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude.AI) not just as novelties, but as powerful aids in the design and development process, as seen in my latest interactive portfolio. My goal is to create intuitive, accessible, and impactful user experiences that thoughtfully incorporate these advancements. My recent work with Ace Media, optimizing sales funnels, has also kept me grounded in practical digital marketing applications.
My journey has equipped me with a unique perspective: one that values rigorous technical execution, empathetic human-centered design, clear communication, and the power of diverse collaboration. I’m passionate about bringing this holistic approach to teams creating meaningful and innovative digital products. If you’re looking for someone who can bridge the creative and the technical, who understands the importance of both the big picture and the pixel-perfect detail, and who is genuinely excited about the future of user experience, I’d love to connect and explore how I can contribute.
